| Rides at a Funfair
There are many different rides available at funfairs. Most can be summed into three basic categories. There are thrill rides, which are geared towards adult entertainment. Next, roller coasters my not be available at all funfairs, but most will have one or tow. Families visit funfairs to give their children a chance to experience the many kid-friendly children’s rides found there. There is bound to be a ride for everyone at a funfair. Thrill rides are just that, a ride that is meant to thrill. This could include the Zipper, a Kamikaze, or even a crazy funhouse. The Zipper has been a popular ride since the 1960’s. The impressive force of the cars flipping over gives the illusion of speed, even though the ride itself is not moving quickly. The Zipper is compact and fairly easy to transport so it is found at many funfairs. The Kamikaze is known for speed. The momentum of the ride brings screams of delight from the brave passengers as it circles and changes directions time after time. Funhouses are less intense than the previously described rides, but are very popular. Funhouses are known to have different mirrors that warp images, moving sidewalks, and spinning barrels to walk through. Overall, there are many different types of thrills to be had at the funfair. Roller coasters are another popular ride at funfairs. The roller coasters found at funfairs are often smaller, so they are able to be transported to different locations as the funfairs travel. German funfairs are more likely to have the larger roller coasters than funfairs in other places. Every parent loves to see the look of joy on the faces of their children as they ride the children’s rides available at most funfairs. These rides can include a Ferris-wheel, spinning the children around slowly or a carousel, which is an age old ride in which children sit upon horses or carriages as they move up and down. Both of these rides are very mild and enjoyable, even for small children. |
